Editorial process
AI-assisted drafting is fine. AI-sourced facts are not. Every requirement statement traces to a state DOE URL stored in the database.
Key takeaways
- Data-bearing pages are drafted by the editorial team and reviewed by a named credentialed reviewer. A contributor is credited as author only on pages they wrote, and never reviews their own page. Requirement tables are transcribed from the cited board URL. Provenance.verifiedBy stays “system” until that reviewer actually checks the source row.
- We do not invent a license number, cut score, fee, or pass rate to fill an empty cell.
- Material corrections are dated on the page and reflected in provenance timestamps.
Authors and reviewers
Most pages are drafted by the editorial team and carry that team as the author, with a named credentialed reviewer beside it. Where a named contributor wrote the page, the byline credits that person instead — and the review credit is dropped, because nobody reviews their own work. We do not invent AI author personas. A Commission license number is published only from the issuing body’s lookup, never from a LinkedIn profile.
Editorial review checks that the page fairly represents the cited source. It is not the same signal as provenance.verifiedBy. That field stays system for automated ingest until the named reviewer actually checks the source row, at which point it becomes reviewer.
Every biographical claim on a contributor profile states how it was established (self-reported, attested by the publisher, or verified against the issuing body) and is listed in that page’s numbered references. Claims we cannot attribute are left off the profile.

Verification
Requirement tables are transcribed from the cited DOE or Commission page stored on the row. Each fact row stores source URL, source name, reporting period, retrieved-at timestamp, and verifier identity (system or reviewer). We do not flip a row to reviewer unless that person checked the source.
Corrections
