We collect the minimum behavioral data needed to understand traffic quality, attribute outbound handoffs, and improve the resource.
What we collect
Session identifiers, page paths, first-touch and proximate referrers, sec-fetch-site, coarse geo, UTM tags when present, and outbound click records for sponsored handoffs. Authoritative analytics live in our retention_events and click_events stores.
Essential cookies: ep_sid (visit session, 30 minutes, httpOnly), ep_vid (visitor, 180 days, httpOnly), and ep_ft (first-touch attribution, 30 minutes, httpOnly). These are used to tell bot traffic from humans, record the referring site, and join an outbound click to a later commission via the partner subid.
Location preference
We read Vercel edge geo headers (x-vercel-ip-country and x-vercel-ip-country-region) to suggest the state resource that matches your network location. That guess is often wrong on cellular networks, so you can set an explicit state. The choice is stored in an essential ep_geo_pref cookie for 90 days and is not used for advertising. ?geo_state=auto clears it and returns you to automatic detection. A short-lived ep_geo_state / ep_geo_zip session mirror is refreshed from that preference or from the headers on each request.
